Randolph Health’s Chief Information Officer Receives National Recognition

ASHEBOROAngela Burgess, Chief Information Officer at Randolph Health, was recently recognized as one of the Most Powerful Women in Healthcare Information Technology (IT). Burgess was one of 34 selected in the  healthcare provider organization category. Furthermore, she was the sole recipient in North Carolina in that category.

“This honor is well deserved,” said Skip Marsh, CFO at Randolph Health. “Angela leads an extremely complex IT function.  Her ability to deploy information technology with a strategic focus has enabled our nationally recognized high performance in patient safety and clinical quality”.

A total of 75 leaders in healthcare information technology were named to Health Data Management’s second annual list of the Most Powerful Women in Healthcare IT across all categories.  Health Data Management solicited nominations from its readers and Health Data Management editors submitted recommendations as well, based on their knowledge of the industry. The editorial staff then reviewed each candidate’s qualification and decided on the final list.

            The list is composed of women working in Healthcare Information Technology within three categories:

n Healthcare IT executives working at healthcare provider organization. 

n Healthcare IT thought leaders.

n Healthcare IT vendor executives.
