Randolph Health to Host Free Colon Cancer Screening

ASHEBORO – Colorectal cancer, often referred to as colon cancer, affects both men and women and is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States and the third most common type of cancer diagnosed in men and women. The risk of developing colorectal cancer increases with age. More than 90 percent of cases occur in people 50 or older. But there is an easy way to lower your risk of colon cancer!

Randolph Health is conducting a FREE Colon Cancer Screening. This screening will be conducted on Thursday, March 14th at Randolph Health Private Dining Room, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

The Free Colon Cancer Screening is designed to provide participants with some resources and tools to help lower the risk of colon cancer. Participants will receive valuable education about colon cancer and ways to prevent it, view a hands-on colon-friendly meal demonstration and receive a free (FIT Test) used to screen for colon cancer.

As part of this screening, participants will receive a FREE fecal immunochemical test (FIT). This tool is used as a screening test for colon cancer. Following a brief education, participants will take the test home, where it can be conducted in privacy. Once samples are collected, participants will return the test as instructed in the kit. Results will be mailed directly to each participant.

You won’t want to miss this opportunity to participate in a FREE Colon Cancer Screening. Get checked today by registering for this screening. To register for this screening, please call the Community Events Desk at (336) 633-7788 or visit www.randolphhealth.org to register. Registration is required and space is limited.
