Potential Health Care Successor for Randolph County

ASHEBORORandolph Health has been working to implement a new, innovative model of care to sustain local health care access far into the future. An essential component of the new model includes Randolph County’s application for $20 million in loan funding from North Carolina’s newly created Rural Health Stabilization Program. This application requires a high-quality health system to ultimately become the new provider of care in Randolph County.

We are in discussions with Cone Health, a long-time partner of Randolph Health, that may result in this organization becoming more directly involved in providing health care in this community. Randolph Health has a management services agreement with Cone Health. As of today, we are only exploring possibilities; no actions have been taken by Cone Health’s Board of Trustees.

While fully implementing a new model of care is anticipated to take several years and the health care landscape will change over time, it is vitally important to understand that ensuring local access to high-quality, sustainable health care right here in Randolph County is the chief aim of everyone involved.
