Fight Cancer with Your Fork

Healthy eating and exercise can sometimes seem like a burden, but it doesn’t have to be. It can be as simple as choosing an apple over a cupcake or walking for 10 minutes instead of sitting. Besides helping manage weight, healthy eating and exercise can also help lower your risk for diabetes, high blood pressure and even cancer.

Karen Pfohl, RD, LDN, clinical dietitian with Randolph Cancer Center, will host a community seminar called Fight Cancer with Your Fork. The event will be held on Thursday, March 31st, 2016 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the Private Dining Room at Randolph Hospital. Participants are invited to learn about healthy, balanced, diets, which focus on heart-healthy eating by incorporating fruits, veggies, whole grains, beans, nuts and seeds. During her presentation, Pfohl will conduct a healthy and delicious meal demonstration and participants will have a chance to taste and take the recipe home with them.

Fight Cancer with Your Fork is a free event that is open to the community. It is one of several community events offered throughout the year.
