Free Balance Screening

Do you fear falling when getting out of bed in the morning or even when walking to get the mail? Does it make you nervous to bend without using a chair for fear you might topple over? These are everyday tasks that depend on your ability to control your balance. Balance problems affect about 8 million Americans and 2.4 million Americans report having chronic dizziness. Individuals who experience balance and dizziness problems often feel embarrassed or limited to stationary activities.

On Tuesday, March 15th, Jennifer Thomas, PT, with DeepRiver Rehabilitation will conduct free balance screenings from Noon – 2 p.m. at DeepRiver Rehabilitation at 600W. Salisbury St, Suite A, Asheboro. The screenings will consist of a series of balance tests to assess your risk of falling.

This screening is one of Randolph Hospital and DeepRiver Rehabilitation’s community education events offered each month to promote health and wellness. While the screening is free, registration is required. For more information about this screening or to register, please call Randolph Hospital at (336) 633-7788.
