Do you suffer from stiff or achy shoulders? Does it hinder your day to wake up in the morning and feel that soreness? If so, you are not alone. Approximately four million people in the United States report shoulder pain. Because shoulder pain is so prevalent, Randolph Hospital is partnering with Randolph Orthopedics & Sports Medicine to conduct a free shoulder screening.
The most common causes of painful shoulders are trauma, repetitive motion injuries, sports-related injuries or general wear and tear over time. Chronic overuse is the main reason why people develop shoulder problems.
If you are experiencing pain in your shoulder, ask yourself these questions:
n Is your shoulder stiff? Can you rotate your arm in all the normal positions?
n Does it feel like your shoulder could pop out or slide out of the socket?
n Do you lack the strength in your shoulder to carry out your daily activities?
If you answered "yes" to any one of these questions, you should register to attend this free screening. To register for this screening, please call the Community Events Desk at (336) 633-7788 to register. Registration is required and space is limited.
